New Mexico Homeschool Laws:

The rules currently indicate that you must notify the state when you decide to start a homeschool program. You must then file a new form by April 1st for the next school year indicating you are continuing to home school.

Home School Laws in Other States:

Rules vary greatly by state. Some states require that certain records be kept. Others require that you have a certain level of education to be the educator. Some require periodic statewide standardized tests be taken and passed. Be sure you know and follow the rules where you are.
